THE HELLCAT

$450.00
sold out

The legendary Big Muff is very nostalgic for me, it’s the first pedal I bought myself back in 1996, my first foray into the fuzz world. I’ve owned more big muffs over the years than any other pedal, and I never seem to get tired of them. While I’ve built more than a few custom muffs over the years, one of my goals has been to create a series of vintage inspired muffs from the ground up, including enclosures spec’d from original vintage units, my own custom vintage inspired PCBs, and my own fingerprint of vintage aesthetic. Out of this, the Hellcat series is born.

Consisting of four models, the ‘71, ‘73, ‘76, and ‘78, you’ll be able to pick from three classic transistor muff configurations (triangle, violet, red & black), and even the classic op amp muff. You can choose to add tone bypass circuits to any of these as each one will be custom orders complete with EHX wood crates, custom Kaisertronics printed art, and more.

This very first Hellcat ‘71 gives you an idea of the scope, following the 1971 iteration of the triangle muff it features NOS BC239C’s in place of the unobtanium Fairchilds with gains in the high 600-low 700’s, NOS Fairchild clipping diodes, my custom design of vintage style PCB, housed in a vintage spec big box enclosure made right here in the USA. I powder coat these in-house with Prismatic powders, color choice and knobs are up to you.

The Hellcat is a limited release, each one is numbered and includes:

  • Handmade wood crate spec’d off of original EHX units

  • Original art postcard printed on French Paper

  • Hand stamped gold nameplate

  • Full lifetime warranty on all parts

I’m really excited about these and I hope you love them as much as I love making them!
